Hello, I never went to a vein specialist, I went to quite a few different doctors and none of them took me seriously. I'm assuming that you need a referral from a regular doctor though to get in to see a specialist. I am not really sure how to locate a good one, and I suppose it depends on where you live too. I didn't have anything done to the blue veins as they carry blood and there isn't really anything that can be done to them. I did get rid of a lot of my spider veins though with sclerotherapy and laser therapy which were both quite effective. I'm still in the process of getting these treatments done but I think I have one more and then I am stopping so I am excited about that. I think that stress may also be the cause of the spider veins you are getting too because I noticed I was getting a lot as well when I was getting the blue veins. I know how stressful it is, like I said it's been two years since mine showed up and I STILL stress about them. And you know what? I notice that when I do, that is when they are at their worst. So as hard as it may be, just try not to look at them as that can be stressful which will probably just make them worse.

Thanks for replying! Actually i have been under quite a lot of stress recently..so maybe that is it! But it is def. causing more stress for me right now, bc everyday i notice more veins. Now i am getting spider veins on the side of my stomach! I want to go tanning to try and hide them, but I think that will only make them worse in the long-run. How do I find a good vein specialist? Did you go to one? Did you get anything done to them, like laser or injections?

Hello, I too had the problem with the blue veins appearing all over my body and I have had a severe spider vein problem my entire life. I would go to a vein specialist if I were you, just to get checked out to ease your mind. I'm sure everything is fine medically though. I don't know if the same is for you but when mine appeared I was going through a lot of stress for a long period of time. Once I got over most of that stress and started relaxing they have diminished quite a bit. It's been over two years though and they are not completely gone but I do notice that the more stressed I am the worse they look. So if you think that could be a contributing factor, try not to stress and try to relax the areas of your body where the veins are. Hope I helped you some!

I am having the same problem with veins appearing all over my body. I just started to really notice the veins about a month ago. I've always had some spider veins on my legs that I got treated by laser, but they were never that bad. But recently, I am having blue veins appear all over my body. They aren't varicose veins bc they aren't popping out above my skin..but they are still very noticable. Some of my friends thought it was bc I lost weight, but I don't think so. I've never really seen anyone with promenient blue veins like that my age (26) so I feel better hearing that there are others having the same problem. I thought the blue veins were bad enough (i even have one on the side of my face), but now I am noticing the appearance of spider veins around the blue veins. Will this continue to get worse? Does tanning and birth control really aggreviate them more? I went to my family doctor, and he told me to get an ultrasound of my veins to see if i am have a blood clot. Should I see a vein specialist as well? Advice please!!

called tumescent enhanced sclerotherapy. It injects a fluid in the veins that makes them go away and another fluid around the veins that compresses them. This second fluid makes the veins go away quicker and protects the skin. My doctor said he has never seen such great results from sclerotherapy before. The doctors at Amerivein do it. I found them on Amerivein.com.

Hello, I actually live in Canada so I doubt that the information would be useful to you. If it would be though, by all means let me know and I will find it for you. Since I'm not from the U.S. I don't really know how to locate a good doctor there. Does anybody else have any suggestions?

Hi, I am thinking about the procedure but not sure where to find a experienced doctor who performs this kind of work. Could you give us the doctor name and phone number who treated your vein problem. I would appreciated. I live in California.
