  • Arm Veins for Coronary Bypasses?
A friend of mine just had a heart attack, because of severe coronary blockages.   He had to have a triple bypass to route blood around the blocked coronary arteries (those that supply the heart).  Usually they use someone's leg vein or a cadaver vein to do this.  However in this case because he was young, they used a vein from his arm.   They intimated that a new vein would grow in its place!  Is that really the case?   To what extent can veins regrow?

Wow! I've never heard of that before. How's he doing now? Has the vein regrown well?
